A shrine for modern catholic worship, a stunning early 20th century building by a nationally renowned architect, and an open, inclusive and welcoming congregation, building a praying and serving community.
At the heart of our life as a Parish is the Mass, as we celebrate the presence of our Risen Lord in the Holy Eucharist.
The building's marvellous acoustic makes it a regular venue for concerts and for a variety of recording projects. We have hosted BBC TV's 'Songs of Praise', and Opera Companies, Bands and Choirs have all recorded here. Our own choir and singing group, 'Credo', have two CDs available.
A high level roof and fabric restoration was completed in our Centenary year of celebration, 2003, on this Grade II* Listed building. We are now completing the renovation of the old vestry at the lower east end of the Church, as a community resource, to be known as the Canon Winter Centre. This project will complement the Parish Hall attached to the cloisters, which is in regular use during the week by children's and community groups.
Our work with children and young people includes a Children's Liturgy, Playgroup, Out of School Club, Parents and Toddlers and Uniformed Organisations. Appropriate Child Protection procedures are followed.
If you would like to know more about arrangements for Baptisms, Weddings or Funerals, or for special services to mark an Anniversary, or a House Blessing, then please contact us.
We are a Fairtrade Church, committed to using Fairtrade Tea and Coffee at all meetings for which we have responsibility, and exploring and encouraging the use of other products.
All Saints is one of two Parish Churches within the Parish of Elland, belonging to the Church of England, and to the Anglican/Episcopal Communion. You can find out about our sister Church of S.Mary's, by following the links on this page.
Our Parish is linked with the Parish of Nyasura, in the Diocese of Mara in Tanzania. There is a link to Mara on this page.
The All Saints Prayer (originally written for the Centenary Year in 2003)
Dear Lord, Son of Mary,
we thank you for the years of faith shining in All Saints,
and for all who have gone before us.
As we reap what others have sown,
may we so love and serve you,
that the light of your glorious Gospel
may be known,
and your people hear your call to share in the life of all your Saints.
By the power of the Spirit,
and for your Holy Name's sake. Amen.
