St Matthew's Church has a friendly congregation and all ages are welcome.

We are ordinary people endeavouring to live our lives according to the teaching of Jesus Christ. Through worship and caring friendship we invite all to share God's love.

The Church building was designed by George Basevi, born in London in 1794. The building of the church was supervised by another architect. It took 11 months to build with the foundation stone first laid on 11th May 1846 and opened for worship on Thursday 8th April 1847.
