Holy Trinity Church, Rosemary Lane was established over 100 years ago, to meet the needs of a growing village community. Since then the village has become a small town but nobody would ever consider describing it as anything but a village.
It is not surprising therefore that many refer to our Rosemary Lane buildings as – ‘The Church in the Village’
Actually our premises are far more than just a church building. We have a large Parish Hall which is used widely by the community and a smaller Hall, called ‘The Workshop’, which is used by our thriving Uniformed Organisations and many other community groups. On a Saturday morning it is a drop in café, where many enjoy a bacon bap, a drink and a natter. In addition there is a Church Club, situated behind the Parish Hall, comprising of 4 tennis courts; a crown bowling green; snooker and darts, which is used widely by church and non-church members.
In the 1990’s a church plant was established in Redgate School, to meet the needs of an ever expanding Formby. This is referred to as ‘The Church in the School’ and meets every Sunday at 10.30am, welcoming an average congregation of around 60 each week.
We provide a variety of worship at Rosemary Lane, designed to meet the different needs of our members. Our 8.45am service is a Common Worship Holy Communion and on the 1st Sunday each month, it is followed by a cooked breakfast in the Parish Hall. Our Celebration Service, at 10.30am on the 1st Sunday, is specifically designed for young families, being informal and livelier. I am sure that you will find a service that will suit your personal needs and can assure you of a warm welcome, whether as a visitor, or as someone who is looking for a church community, where they might wish to become regularly involved. Either way, we look forward to welcoming you to Holy Trinity.

Celebration Service
Everyone is welcome to join us in celebrating and worshipping God in a fun filled 45 minute service. We encourage active participation of the congregation and be prepared to sing your heart out with the accompanying music group! You can even play a percussion instrument, the children do - it's great! This is a lively service with plenty of enthusiasm and fun in a God focused way! So If you're looking for an upbeat, modern service that welcomes babies, toddlers, teenagers and of course adults, then give the Celebration Service a try. At the end of each service we enjoy a period of fellowship and usually a Donut or two!
Every first Sunday at 10:30 AM for ¾ hour

Evening Prayer
Evening Prayer is an intimate service quite different in character from our other services at Trinity, but the regular attenders would be more than happy to see a few more faces! It’s difficult to describe in a few words because it varies according to who’s leading it, but the common feature is a deep sense of peacefulness and of shared worship – a sense that is perfectly capable of surviving a growth in numbers if more people feel moved to come and join in the experience. The service is held in the church lounge at 6.30pm. It is usually quite informal even though we normally use a set order of service – either Evening Prayer from the (relatively) new Common Worship, or occasionally the order from the Book of Common Prayer. Other forms of worship may be used from time to time, and recently we have introduced a form of Holy Communion on the third Sunday. The service is usually said, not sung.
