Midsummer Festival Singers

The Midsummer Festival Singers

is a group of musicians of the highest calibre.
The choir, which normally comprises ten singers, boasts members who have sung with some of the best known choirs in the country, including
:

St John's College Choir, Cambridge; Christchurch and Magdalen College Choirs, Oxford, the Schola Cantorum of Oxford; the Tallis Scholars and the choir of Westminster Abbey.

The singers meet on an occasional basis and perform a repertoire which is intended to entertain the audience as well as bringing them quality music, performed to a very high standard.

The Singers' first public concert took place in 2001 at Gayton St Nicholas church and was a great success. Further concerts have taken place each year since then.


The programme will include a wide variety of music. The audience will be presented with everything from mediaeval polyphony to close harmony, ensuring that there will be something to suit all tastes.

Admission will be free - tickets not available in advance.


A collection on behalf of St Nicholas church will be taken after the concert.
