St Margaret's is very old (Saxon origins, with the first vicar on the board listed as starting work in 1227. His name was Adam - no record of his wife's name but you may guess!), very small (seating around 60) and very picturesque (the locals call it 'the Little House on the Prairie Church').

There is a service every Sunday, with sermon and hymns, following a monthly pattern as follows:-

1st and 3rd Sundays: 9.30am Common Worship Holy Communion

2nd Sunday 3pm January to March, 5pm April to October: All-Age worship (with refreshments afterwards)

(2nd Sunday in November: 9.30am Remembrance service, 2nd or 3rd Sunday in December: Carol and Christingle service)

4th Sunday 9.30am All-Age Holy Communion (CW)

5th Sunday 9.30am BCP Matins

It sits in a very well-maintained Churchyard amid quiet fields. Many people visit the Churchyard, and many more cycle or walk along the lane. We have a steady stream of weddings, baptisms and interment of ashes - please contact us if you would like to enquire about having your service at St Margaret's. If you would like to do this in person, please come to our "office hour" any Thursday, 6-7pm, at the Rectory 18 Brenchley Avenue DA11 7RQ.

There is a small but dedicated congregation who worship faithfully and, through the "Friends of St Margaret's", raise money to pay for the upkeep and ministry of the Church.

We are thrilled to tell you that through the vision of St Margaret’s Church Ifield and the generosity of God’s people the Gravesend CAP Debt Centre will open on 25 July 2016.

Individuals and Churches have pledged over £40,000 over 5 years to enable this service to begin, offering hope, friendship and the love of God to people with unmanageable debt.

The centre Manager is Mrs Carey Laughland and she can be contacted by email careylaughland@capuk.org.

The freephone for those wanting help is 0800 3280006.

There will be an official Launch service on Sunday 23 October, 6.30pm, at Holy Family Church, Palmer Avenue, Gravesend DA12 5DQ.

As the service grows we will need increasing numbers of befrienders and prayer partners. If you or anyone in your Church are interested,  please contact Carey.

You would be very welcome to join us, or to contact us to find out more. The Church will usually be open 3-5pm every Sunday afternoon from May-September

The church is available for parishes and groups to hire for Quiet Days.

St Margaret's is part of a united Benefice with Holy Family church, which means they are separate parishes but share a Priest-in-Charge. It also means people who live in St Margaret's parish can be married at Holy Family, and vice-versa.

The Benefice is part of the East Gravesend group of Anglican Churches, with St Aidan's (serving Westcourt and Riverview Park) and Christ Church Echo Square.
