Built in 1876 to serve a growing village, Christ Church is still at the heart of the community. There are a number of services during the day that attract around 200 attendance between them. In the summer months, the evening service takes place in All Saints Church, the former Parish Church which dates back to the 12th Century and was once attended by the famous explorer, cartographer and circumnavigator, James Cook, when he lived here as a boy.
