St Paul's Church seeks to serve in the Halliwell Community witnessing to the love of God shown to all in Jesus Christ. Worship is low evangelical with a more contemporary feel at the all age service on the first Sunday of the month. We are a small friendly congregation. There are creche facilities and a Sunday School. We work together in the newly created Benefice of West Bolton with St Thomas the Apostle, Bolton, St Luke, Halliwell, St. Paul with Emmanuel, Bolton le Moors and St George the Martyr, Daubhill.
In the Halliwell Road area there is a weekly house fellowship. There are occasional social events from seaside outings to quiz nights.
(HAFWAY) Along with other churches we support Halliwell Action For Work Alongside Young People which is based in St Paul's Community Centre. The group runs a varied programme including Cookery, Homework Group, Mentoring, After School Clubs to Outward Bound Trips. Young people are involved in developing future activities.
Halliwell Befriending Service is now based in St Paul's Community Centre supporting the lonely and house bound through vounteer visits. The Service runs a Luncheon Club, Drop-in, Computer Group, Men's Group, Knit and Natter and Card Making group as well as organising trips.
Bolton School of Dance and Drama offer many styles of dance from beginner to advanced level and for all ages. A dance group for over 50s is planned.
There is a Rainbow and a Brownie Pack.
A Halls Steering groups is working with a consultant to obtain grants to refurbish the Victorian Halls and make them more suitable for current and new activities. The group has been succesful in getting to the second round of the Reaching Communities Big Lottery Building Fund
