St Richard's church is a star shaped plan with copper covered folding roofs. Off the main body of the church is a Lady Chapel, choir room, vestry and kitchen. The foundation stone was laid by Norman Wates in September 1964 who donated the site. The church was completed in 1965 to the design of Covell Matthews and built by Lawson Piggot.
