St Luke's Church building was designed by Revd J Busfield MA, and originally built as a church hall. The foundation stone was laid by the Bishop of Knaresborough on 3rd December 1959, and the dedication of the building took place on 22nd October 1960 by the Bishop of Ripon.
The church building was named St Luke's Church Centre on St Luke's Day, 18th October 1974, when the Bishop of Knaresborough performed the dedication, and divine services were transferred from the old church building.
St Luke's Church Centre is a dual-purpose building used by the church and community all week.
Church banners are on display, and drawing back the curtains reveals an inspiring modern Sanctuary. The centre-piece is a sculpture of the ascending Christ, arms held out in welcome. Each side shows a large panel depicting the crown of thorns which when lit radiate glory.
St Luke's Church joined with St John's Church, Bilton to became part of the Parish of Bilton St John & St Luke on 1st October 1996.
