Haxey Parish Church is the largest church building in the Axholme Deanery, and known as the "Cathedral of the Isle". There is evidence of Norman, Early English and Perpendicular styles of architectures. Notable features include six bells and a rare, ancient carillion which plays three hymn tunes. The organ is a fine instrument, much appreciated by professional organists. The kneelers and Stations of the Cross banners are interesting examples of needlework. The church and parish of Haxey are mentioned in the Domesday Book, and in 1991, the church held a 900 years celebration.
