St Cyprian's is a delightful Victorian church built by James Horsfall and positioned next to his factory now Webster Horsefall Latch and Batchelor Ltd. We have a small, friendly, active community from a wide range of backgrounds and with a broad spread of interests. What holds us together is Christian faith and a desire to explore more of the God who reveals himself in Jesus Christ and what he calls each of us to in our lives.
We are an open and welcoming community and any who wish, can discover a home amongst us. Come and worship in our Victorian Grade 2 listed building with its excellent set of stained glass windows, check out the Wikipedia article for more history and photographs. The congregation are actively engaged in support to missions in Africa (Uganda) and elsewhere. A dedicated group of volunteers arrange the flowers whilst the Memorial garden in front of the church has recently been restored by the congregation and was blessed by the outgoing vicar Rev Tony Johnson. Our lay team will be conducting services and other duties during the interegnum and we welcome Fr. Roy Anetts to St Cyprians in the New Year. Next to the church is the old Victorian schoolroom and the Memorial Hall, with its fully equiped kitchen, is available for hire for parties, receptions and other meetings.
This site shares something of our life – our worship and other activities. Please explore and if you want to find out more, do get in touch with us. Parking is available close to the church on a Sunday as the small businesses are closed otherwise there is a large car park outside Next. Disabled access is completely on the level from the pavement into the church, schoolroom and memorial hall.
Through Jesus Christ in unity Reaching out with love and Service to the community.
