St. Mary's, Headley is an attractive Victorian church set high on the North Downs in Surrey. With views of London and across the Mole Gap to the neighbouring church at Ranmore, the church is visited by a steady stream of walkers and cyclists.
The congregation comes from the small, local population of Headley village (just 675 souls) augmented by worshippers from surrounding towns and villages drawn by the hearty singing of traditional hymns and the warm welcome provided to regulars and newcomers alike.
Communion Services are held on Sundays at 08:00 and 10:30 and on Wednesdays at 10:00
Sunday school is held on every 4th Sunday at 10:30 in the adjacent old school building and an inclusive all-age family service is held at 10:30 on every 2nd Sunday (for full calendar of services see separate tab on services)
With its photogenic architecture and sensitive approach to life's vicissitudes, St Mary's is a popular venue for the key rites of passage, holding regular Baptisms, Marriages and Funerals. Preparation and counseling are available around these services and for other moments of crisis from the incumbent, Linda Harknett, and her pastoral support team who would be delighted to help you organise an event for your family or to assist you in any time of need.
To its Christian community St Mary's offers regular opportunities for fellowship with a home group (including a Lent group), a book club, annual golf day and regular fundraising events throughout the year. There is scope for creative talents through singing in the choir, flower arranging and writing for the Parish Magazine. Those with a Christian vocation are encouraged to pursue it; several congregation members have received Diocesan training, enabling them to preach, lead worship and engage in pastoral care.
