St Botolph's is an active church that values good quality worship. There is a keen, small choir which leads 3 services a month - and a vacancy for a permanent organist. The congregation has a strong sacramental base but also reaches out to families through appropriate services and worship material (see service section). The village has a strong connection to the peasant poet John Clare and there is a display of material in church to the left of the entrance. His grave is on the SE side of the churchyard (map in porch).
Currently the church is trying to pursue a new heating scheme using environmentally sensitive technology - and we are seeking planning consent from the DAC.
The parish is the subject of a new pastoral scheme which will see it leave the Glinton group of 6 and join Barnack, Bainton and Wittering which are all connected by the B1443. Helpston remains with the Glinton group pending the changes.
