This year Lent Groups will be following a course based around the TV drama series The Chosen, the story of four Biblical characters and the impact Jesus had on them. We will be watching 5 episodes over the course of Lent and discussing these, following guided notes. There will be a number of groups across the benefice, on a Tuesday lunchtime and then a repeat of that session on a Wednesday evening if there are two or more people interested in an evening session.
If you are interested in being part of the evening group or want to know more, please contact Julia: [email protected] If you want to come to the Tuesday lunchtime group just turn up for session 1 and bring your packed lunch! The same material is used on both days so if you cannot attend one you can catch up by joining the other group, where it will be repeated. All Welcome.

This is a 4 session course. You are welcome to come when you can or come to every session.

Safeguarding

SAFEGUARDING:
The United Benefice of The Lavers and Matching is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies. The Diocese of Chelmsford’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise us. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

Our Parish Safeguarding Representative is currently being safely recruited into post but Revd Julia Baldwin can be contacted by email in the meantime – [email protected]

If you have a safeguarding concern/allegation/disclosure please call the Chelmsford Diocesan Safeguarding Duty Number (01245 29 44 44). If they cannot answer your call straight away please leave an answerphone message with your name and phone number so that they can call you back.
