The parish comprises two different areas in High Wycombe; Sands contains some of the most expensive housing in the town while Castlefield is an urban priority area. The church aims to be a place of prayer where people can encounter God and to serve its local community. The congregation is inclusive and welcomes people regardless of their ethnic origin, gender or sexual orientation.
The church building, completed in 1938 is Byzantine with a distinctive green copper dome and is often mistaken for a mosque. Its worship is Anglo Catholic, aiming to help people feel God’s presence and experience the awesome mystery of the Incarnation. The building is ideally suited to this, being surprisingly light and airy, with a wonderful acoustic for music. The altar is eastward facing and mass is celebrated with robed servers, bells and incense. We use a variety of music, both traditional and modern and have a small band including children and young people.
