A beautiful small church on a little hill
overlooking Hoveton and Wroxham, and the
valley of the river Bure. The main part of hte
church dates from Norman times, and has
courses of a black building material, 'iron-
bound conglomerate', as well as signs of
earlier door and window. The little brick
tower of the 18th century replaces a
mediaeval one struck by lightning. Inside is
a delightful little rood screen, though its
paintings have long gone. In the windows
on the south side, a collection of continental
stained glass panels, Swiss, Flemish &
German. A small extension was built in
recent years, providing WC, kitchen & level
access for wheelchairs, though the door
needs to be opened by someone from
inside.
