Membership
Membership is open to all people interested in the above objectives, particularly those who are not regular members of the congregation and those who do not worship with us but who wish to support their parish church.
Benefits
The benefits of becoming a Friend, as well as knowing you are supporting your picturesque and historical parish church (which is always left open for visitors), will include the annual general meeting, a garden party, various outings, visits and trips, fund-raising events and two Newsletters a year.
Subscriptions
The annual subscription rate is £10. p.a. per Friend, or £25. p.a. for corporate membership, e.g. a company or organisation.
If you wish to become a Friend, please send the application form (downloadable from this site) together with a cheque to the treasurer. Subsequent subscriptions may be made by standing order.
The first year will run from 30th September 2010.
It is our intention to apply for charitable status, after which your donation can be Gift Aided.
Launch
A steering committee of three people (Henry Jefferies, Iris Lloyd & David Small) has set up this organisation and a Constitution is in draft form for further discussion. Everybody who signs up as a Friend will receive a copy of the final version.
The steering committee wants to attract another one or two volunteers as extra committee members to serve for a year, after which they may stand down or put themselves forward for election at an annual general meeting.
If you are interested in becoming involved, please let us know.
Competition
We require a Logo for our headed notepaper and for publicity purposes. Do YOU have any ideas? (N.B. The initials of the organisation are F.O.S.L.)
The creator of the winning entry will receive free membership of The Friends for the first year. Please send your submission to the Secretary by 31st August 2010.
