This beautiful and famous Norman church on the edge of Oxford, built in 1170, is home to a large and friendly congregation of all ages. A peaceful, said service using the traditional liturgy of Cranmer's Book of Common Prayer.
Every Sunday at 8:00 AM for ½ hour
A peaceful, said service using the traditional liturgy of Cranmer's Book of Common Prayer.
Every Sunday at 8:00 AM for ½ hour
Parish Communion
Our main Sunday service, which attracts about 100 people. We use the recently-published Common Worship liturgy in contemporary language, some of which is sung. Young St. Mary's, our Sunday School, meets during this service and the children join us at the end. There is also a carpeted area with toys at the back of the church for small children, and a creche nearby. Six services a year are All-Age services, when the children are in throughout. When the service is over, we gather for coffee and biscuits in the Church Hall.
Every Sunday at 10:00 AM for 1 hour

This is a peaceful, thoughtful service as the day draws to a close. We alternate between the new Common Worship form of service, and the traditional Book of Common Prayer. We sing three hymns and one or two canticles. Occasionally, our church choir joins us so that we can have Choral Evensong. On the fourth Sunday of each month, Evening Prayer is replaced by a said service of Holy Communion.
