St. Paul's is a relatively modern and distinctive church building. Built in 1965 it is eight-sided with a crowning cupola containing the bell. It stands just below the highest point of the City of Leeds. Internally it has a large unobstructed worship area with seating for over 300 people.
The church serves a large parish comprising mostly post-war housing both social and private. There are three primary and one high school in the parish, also the Holt Park Centre comprising supermarket, shops and leisure centre.
