At Keighley Shared Church we aim to be a sign of the love and faithfulness of God in our local community.  Visitors and newcomers are welcome to join us at any of our services, and the church is open on Friday mornings for anyone who wants to look around the building or find a quiet space to pray.  A number of regular activities, including coffee and lunches, take place in the hall.  Our church has congregations from different Christian traditions, which reflects our openness to working alongside others in our community to improve life in Keighley.

Both Anglicans and Methodists have been worshipping at this Church since 1975 when the Temple Street Methodist congregation left their buildings and came to join the Anglican congregation of the parish of St. Andrew's.  In February 2000, this became a Local Ecumenical Partnership.  In September 2014 we were very pleased to welcome the family service from St Marks Utley, who relocated to the Shared Church, bringing new energy and a commitment to evangelism and discipleship. This paved the way for the merger of our two churches together with St Barnabas, Thwaites Brow, and All Saints into the united Parish of Keighley, which came into effect on 31st May 2016. We see this as an exciting new era for ministry across Keighley, celebrating the distinctive contributions of our four historic parishes and giving us new opportunities to share the love of God with the people of our town .

Our church services aim to tell of the love and forgiveness Jesus offers to everyone and to provide a place to grow in faith in the church family.  Church members are encouraged to take part in leading prayers, reading and sharing, and there are opportunities for those who wish to receive prayer (in confidence) for healing or any other need.  During the Family Service, there are several groups for children and young people aged 2-14 years to allow age-appropriate teaching and the growth of friendships and faith.  We also run different groups for adults during the week, both in homes and at church, for bible study, prayer, and friendship.

As the town-centre church with multi-media resources and a large, flexible worship space, we host different activities supported by Christians from across Keighley.  Christian Links in Keighley Schools (CLiKS) run events each term for up to 700 Year-5 or Year-6 pupils (Rewind to Christmas, Rewind to Easter, and Fast Forward to secondary school), and X:Site Keighley hold bi-monthly Saturday evening events for 7-11 year-olds and an Easter holiday club.  The Church is used for civic services such as Remembrance Sunday, and musical concerts; it has a fine organ and grand piano.

We offer chaplaincy to the town, and are involved in various partnerships with civic leaders and with the Muslim and other faith communities.  Keighley St. Andrew's Church of England Primary School is attached to the parish of St. Andrew's and Church members are involved as Governors of the School.  We play an active part in the wider church, in Keighley Churches Together, the Aire and Worth Deanery of the Anglican Diocese of Leeds and the Airedale Methodist Circuit of the Methodist West Yorkshire District.

Sunday

United Worship
Both Anglicans and Methodists belong to this congregation. On alternate weeks the service is either traditional Anglican-led Holy Communion, or Methodist-led worship in a variety of styles. This service tries to bring the best from both traditions to enrich the shared experience of worship, feeding our spiritual journey from the deep wells of time-honoured faith. Traditional and contemporary hymns are sung. Preaching is relevant to life in today's world, and church members are encouraged to take part in leading prayers, reading and sharing.
