St Mary’s has been the Parish church of Kentisbeare since medieval times and celebrates the 750th anniversary of its founding this year. The chequered design of the tower is unique in Devon and overall the church earns many pleasing comments from visitors for its warm and welcoming atmosphere. Music is a strong feature of the church with a robed choir and a peal of six bells rung by a team of enthusiastic bell ringers. The churchyard continues in use as a burial ground and is immaculately cared for. A variety of different service types is designed to cater for a range of ages and worship preferences and for more details of services click on the Mission Community Web Page link opposite.
