Children and Families
A number of children and young families are regular members of our worshipping community:
Sunday club takes place during the 11.00am service on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays of the month.
On the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at 4.30pm there is a Tea-Time Service, half an hour of family friendly worship followed by tea. All are welcome at this Service and for tea afterwards.
From September 2011 the JAFFA Club will be held on the 4th Sunday of the month from 4.30 - 6.00pm in the Lychgate Schoolroom. This is a new venture for Junior School pupils in year 3 and above, and will include, stories, games and Christian teaching.
The very popular ABC group, for parents and toddlers meets in the church every Thursday in term-time from 1.30 - 3.00pm. There is no charge and all are welcome.
From time to time Holiday Clubs are arranged, usually lasting two hours and taking place in the Church buildings and Lychgate room. Activities such as crafts, stories and songs are available for children aged up to 11 years. Light refreshments are also provided. The clubs are often focussed around a theme of one of the churches Festivals such as Shrove Tuesday, Good Friday, Pentecost etc. There is no charge for these clubs which are advertised locally well in advance.
Good links exist with both the primary schools in the Parish (one of which is a Church School) and also the local nursery school. These links take the form of leading assemblies, working with the school Christian Union, supporting the PTA and meeting children, parents and staff informally whenever possible.
All activities for children are under the supervision of fully authorized, and CRB checked adults.
