The beautiful church of St Wilfrid stands on a site believed to have been first used for a church in the seventh century AD and an ancient church is mentioned in the Domesday survey of 1086.
Today we seek to be welcoming to people of all Christian traditions and to those new to the faith, to be dynamic to grow in the faith and love of Jesus Christ and to be bible based, proclaiming scripture in a relevant way to encourage its application in our daily lives.
We are committed to fellowship – encouraging people to get to know each other better and support fellow members and newcomers, both in practical ways and through prayer; to family – to care and support all ages, giving dignity, respect and responsibility to all, whilst not forgetting to have fun; to community – to play a key role as a community resource in our town, by supporting those in need and engaging in mission by meeting with people where they are and, further afield – to supporting key charities and agencies nationally and internationally.

PLEASE NOTE: This service may change for other special services or the church may close as we occasionally visit other churches for worship. every Sunday at 6:00 PM for ½ hour
Wednesday
This service is followed by a meeting of the Wednesday Group - also know as Church Cleaning PLC. Attendance at this group is not compulsory, you may still be offered tea and cake, which is a vital part of the activity of this group.
Every Wednesday at 10:00 AM for ½ hour
Our home group meetings are informal, with time to socialise, study the Bible and pray. We usually use a DVD based course with a supporting study book to aid our discussions. Some examples of subjects we have looked at so far are 'Bad Girls of the Bible', the book of Genesis, and Mary Magdalene. Subjects are chosen by the agreement of the group as a whole and we are open to ideas. We hope that our studies will be interesting and varied.
The group aim to meet every 2 weeks, usually on a Wednesday, but this is flexible because of work commitments. Please be sure to contact us for when and where the group next meet. Wednesday at 7:00 PM for 2 hours
