Situated in the Yorkshire Dales the church is often visited by tourists and walkers, many of whom have commented on its peaceful atmosphere. It is open from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm daily (later in summer).
The church was originally one of the four ‘daughter’ churches of the Ancient Parish of Giggleswick. The site, together with funds for the building, was given by John G Paley, a director of Bowling Iron Works at Bradford. He was a member of a prominent Langcliffe family which included the famous Archdeacon Paley of Carlisle.
There is some beautiful stenciling in the chancel. Our green altar-frontal has an interesting story – it was made from a dressing gown belonging to Lord Halifax, the former Viceroy of India.
Visitors can browse a varied selection of second-hand books and CDs which have been donated and are on sale to raise funds for the church.
For further details on the history of the church there are information folders on display.
