Welcome to St John's!We are a friendly Church family and we are part of the Anglican Church here in Telford.

St John’s Lawley is very much a Church of England rural village Church, on the western side of Telford. Built in 1865, it could be said Lawley is now going through its most exciting changes since it was mentioned in the Doomsday book, as many new houses are built within the nearby area, (the Ironstone Housing Project). We want to play a major part in welcoming those making their homes in new local developments.

Our worship follows Church of England liturgy, and would best be described as central and progressive.

We are a member of the Central Telford Ecumenical Partnership. This Partnership is between Anglican churches and Methodist churches in Telford. It celebrates and recalls the common faith the different churches hold and seeks to encourage inter-church cooperation.

St John's has good links with both the local primary school (Lawley Primary School), and also Thomas Telford School. We host services from both schools at various times during the school year.

Everyone is welcome.

Passover Meal
On the day before Jesus died, Jesus celebrated a meal with his friends and followers. This was a typical 'Passover Meal' which celebrated part of Israel's History. This meal Jesus led and became known as 'The Last Supper'. We have invited a Jewish Christian lady to come and help us experience what a typical Jewish Passover Meal would be like. She will also point out how this Meal helps us understand the life and death of Jesus. Everyone is welcome to join us. More details will appear on this website, but we ask that anyone whose interested in coming along that they would contact us by March 21st to allow us to know numbers. The meal is suitable for adults and children. It's bound to be a thoughtful and enjoyable time!
