This old Church appeared in the Domeday Book (1086) as serving both Great & Little Hormead. Some 200 years later St Nicholas was built in Great Hormead. St Marys lost its independent Rector in 1886. It was handed to the Conservation Trust in 1995, who now maintain its fabric. By courtesy of the Trust, a few Services are held per year, mainly said Communion at 8.30.am in the summer months. Villagers use nearby St Nicholas, Great Hormead for most services
