In January 2018 St. James` Church was closed for worship.  In 2020 the parish was amalgamated with neighbouring St. Mary`s to form a new parish - Littlehampton, St. Mary and St. James.  All worship in the new parish takes place at the parish church of St. Mary.  

The church hall at St. James is currently the home of Littlehampton Community Fridge.
