St Mary's Church is set in the village of Lockington and was built by the Norman's in 1150, extended in the 14th Century and again in the 18th. In the late 19th Century the church underwent significant but careful restoration under the supervision of Temple Moore, a renowned church architect. The interior furnishings largely date from this period. It is a Grade I listed building. Internally the modern is mixed with the old, with a beautiful stained glass window installed in 2010, which depicts the parable of the sower. St Mary's Church is also featured in Simon Jenkins book 'England's Thousand Best Churches'. Visitors are always welcome.
