Parochial Church Council

The Parochial Church Council, or PCC as it is generally known, is an elected body which is responsible for ensuring that the spiritual, legal, financial, pastoral and missionary functions of the Church are carried out.

The PCC consists of the Vicar, the Churchwardens and Deanery Synod representatives who are all ex-officio members, and eight parishioners whose names have been on the Electoral Roll for a minimum of one year at the time of election.

The Vicar acts as Chairman (except in a vacancy), and a Treasurer and Secretary are appointed from within the Council once it has been formed. Elections take place at the Annual Meeting which is held in April, and to which all parishioners are invited. At this meeting the PCC reports on the year’s work and parishioners have the opportunity to put forward ideas for the coming year or to voice their concerns on matters which they would like the PCC to address.

The PCC meets on average every 3 months in the Church meeting room.

The PCC is supported by the Fabric and Finance committee, the Social committee and the Stewardship task group.

There is also a Pastoral Group which was formed in 2018.

Coffee and Chat group

There has been an increase in the number of people joining us for Coffee and Chat on alternate Wednesdays and thanks go to those on the rota who come and open up the church and make coffee. We enjoyed a lovely “Christmas Special” this year and thanks must go to those who organised it. There is a warm welcome there for everyone so why not just pop in when you see the sign outside church.

Events

The Church organises special events in the parish so that people can come together to enjoy themselves. All are welcome. Recent events have included:

Harvest Supper, Family Ceilidh, Flower festival and Kneeler exhibition, Stalls and “Summer Wedding” exhibition on Village Day, Monthly Coffee Mornings, Golf and Cricket matches, Carol singing, Annual Ball.
