St Oswald

Welcome to our church page! St Oswald's is the parish church in the village of Lythe, and has a very friendly community. We are part of a Benefice of six churches currently in interregnum. Heading the team while we seek a new incumbent is our curate, Dr Gill Boag-Munroe, who is assisted by our retired priest, Rev. Josephine Evetts-Secker. We also have an authorised lay minister in Sandsend: Helen Lloyd. Between us, we hold three services weekly within the Benefice churches: usually there are two Eucharist services and a Morning Praise. We would be absolutely delighted to welcome you to any of our services.

The parish of Lythe with Sandsend is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO), Sheila Sloan, who can be contacted by phone on 07747 750439 or email [email protected]. The Diocese of York’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
