Welcome to St James Maghull. We would love to invite you to any of our services and events. There are more details and photos on our Facebook page (see the link on the right or search for: St James, Maghull).

St. James Church is one of the 4 churches that are part of the Maghull and Melling Team and is adjacent to Green Park and St. John Bosco schools on Green Lane Maghull. We are a friendly informal church and all are very welcome. We are currently in an interregnum (posh word for being being between vicars) so our contact details are briefer than normal but you can contact the assistant curate who is helping us out via the email link on the contact us page.

St James has been awarded a Child Friendly award. The Child Friendly Church Award Scheme was created to help churches consider how they "welcome and integrate children and their families into the worshipping life of their church".

St James has also been awarded an Eco-Congregation award. Eco-congregation aims to encourage churches to celebrate the gift of God's creation and to care for it in their life and mission and through members' personal lifestyles.

The church also has an active social programme to suit all.

Team 24 hour prayer event
Following on from our month of readings and sermons on prayer and then the month on community we are going to hold a 24 hour prayer event from mid-day on Friday 20th October to mid-day on Saturday 21st. This is a Team event and will take place at St Peter's. The focus of our prayer will be community: the community in which we live; our church community; our work community, and on God’s vision for us as individuals and as a Team in those communities. There will be space to sit quietly and pray. There will be some prayer stations for those who would like to use them: these will include colouring your prayer, playdough, water, pebbles, maps, and photos. There will be a prayer labyrinth to walk and talk quietly with God. This is an all-age event, please encourage children and young people to join in.
