A History of the Church

St. Peter's Church, Milden is a medieval church, one of 500 churches in Suffolk recorded in the Domesday book. An avenue of laburnum leads to the church built of flint stones with limestone at the corners. A tower was taken down in 1840 following storm damage and salvaged stones were used to build the present west wall. The west wall was repaired in 2006. One bell sits in an open gabled bell cote. The bell was brought down from the bell cote and repaired and rehung at the same time as the works were carried out on the west wall.
