St Peter’s Church, Mill End, is part of the Parish of Mill End and Heronsgate with West Hyde and Maple Cross in the Diocese of St.Albans. There are three churches in the Parish - St Peter’s, St Thomas’s and St John’s (see separate entries).
It is the largest parish in the Deanery of Rickmansworth with a population of some 10,500.
Our friendly congregation is always delighted to welcome new faces to services and to our social functions. We have a Mothers’ Union, Men’s Club and Toddler Group, and the robed choir (Adults and Juniors) is always pleased to swell its ranks with new members. There is a good musical tradition with an augmented choir and orchestra at some services during the year. There is a church parade for Guides, Brownies and Rainbows and Cubs once a month at the Sung Eucharist, and a weekly Sunday school/creche.
The church is of knapped flint with Bath stone dressings and has some fine stained glass windows by Heaton, Butler and Bayne.
