Moreton Pinkney is a small Northamptonshire ironstone village surrounded by agricultural land farmed with cattle, sheep and arable. It is midway between Canons Ashby (National Trust) and Sulgrave Manor (George Washington family home) one and three miles distant. St.Marys dates from the late 12th century with a Victorian rebuilt chancel and is set back from the road in a churchyard that remains in use for burials. The Church has a reputation for being a friendly, welcoming and warm church in which to worship, embracing the local population, visitors and tourists’ alike. There is a prayer stone in the South East corner of the churchyard thought to have been in use before the church was built. It has a tower with a peal of six bells, and the village has its own team of seven bell ringers. The church has (a recently refurbished) antique wind pipe organ and with pews at the back and chairs in the front half the seating gives flexibility for concerts, Weddings, Christenings etc.
