The church is situated on the outskirts of Loughborough and is a sister church of Emmanuel. In 1998 St Mary in Charnwood was gifted 1 acre of woodland which is adjacent to the church. A walkway through the woodland leads to quiet viewing areas overlooking the nearby Nanpantan reservoir. In 2001 St Mary in Charnwood was a finalist in the ‘Best Kept Churchyard in Great Britain’ competition. It makes an ideal venue for quiet days.
Our worship is liturgical but fairly informal. During the 9.30am service there are groups for children. The 11.00am and 6.20pm services have a more traditional feel.
St Mary in Charnwood retains some traditions of a country church including Plough Sunday and Rogation Sunday where the morning service is held in the local countryside.
We share many midweek events with Emmanuel including housegroups and Alpha courses.

The church is open for those who wish to sit and pray or reflect on events that have happened over the past week. If the weather is nice walk round the wood and pause to sit and look out over Nanpantan Reservoir. Tell your friends to visit before heading home after a busy week at work, everyone welcome.
