Child Sponsorship
We have received a letter from Plan International about the Vietnamese girl, Au Thi Luong, whom we sponsor through the church. She and her family live in an area of Vietnam which was affected by a tropical rain storm some months ago, which caused landslides in their district. The letter informs us that Au Thi Luong and her family are all well, and her family remain in the area. However, Au Thi Luong has moved to a nearby city, to study to become a tailor, and has moved out of Plan’s sponsorship area. When we first took on the sponsorship, she and her family had no access to a proper toilet, and used water from rivers and streams for cleaning, drinking and cooking. Now, thanks to your sponsorship, they have a clean water supply, toilets and school facilities. Plan have offered us another little Vietnamese girl, Vu Hoang Nhung, who is only three years old. She and her family live in a different area of Vietnam, and they have to use a hole in the ground for a toilet, and drink water from streams and rivers. Her family are peasant farmers, and can look forward to better facilities in the future through our and others’ sponsorship. Details, including a photo, are at the back of church. Williader was involved in the Haiti earthquake, and Plan International have now told us that he and his family have survived.
