Welcome to St George's!
We're a traditional high church firmly within the Anglican tradition seeking to offer a warm welcome to all our visitors.
We're an inclusive congregation drawn together by our particular form of worship and the love, care and acceptance we try to show each other.
Set in Tombland - opposite the cathedral - you can find us next door to the Edith Cavell pub!
The Parochial Church Council has produced a mission statement - "St George's aims to be a living witness to Our Lord and an evolutionary catholic faith within Tombland and the city, whilst being a haven for spiritual growth and renewal for others and ourselves"
Sounds grand - we're not - and we hope that you'll appreciate what we mean when you visit us and experience the special nature of this beautiful church and share our worship.
Please have a look at the attached pages - they're full of interesting information - and don't forget the photographs which have become a photographic diary of what we get up to!!!
We try to keep the church open during week day mornings - up to about lunch time - and everyone is very welcome to pop in and experience this haven of peace in the middle of a busy part of the city.
To help quieten the soul and mind in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives we have meditations and healing services on the first and second Wednesday of the month - please see the events section for further details
We look forward to meeting you.
