A city-centre church in Norwich with an evangelical tradition
although nowadays it appeals to a cross-section of worshippers.
Its location is strategically important, as the footpath through
the churchyard leads to the new Chapelfield Shopping Centre, so
the present emphasis is on deciding how best to minister to
shoppers and city-centre visitors.
The Sunday congregation of between 45 and 70 people, is
loyally committed to the Church and its future, and works hard
to provide a warm and friendly welcome to all who pass by. We
maintain an open Church from 10 a.m. to Noon, particularly in
the summer. We also take pride in the Grade I listed medieval
building and are considering how it may be adapted for
contemporary use and mission.
At. present, whilst St. Stephen's is undergoing structural repairs, and is closed, we are holding our Sunday services at Chantry Hall, Chantry Road Norwich, NR2 1QZ.
We are a stone's throw from the Forum, between the Theatre Royal and Marks & Spencer, by the Theatre Street bus stop.
