This Church is part of the Cranmer Group of parishes, which includes Scarrington, Orston, Whatton, Hawksworth, Aslockton, Thoroton (hence sometimes known as the SO WHAT group!). Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury at the time of the Reformation and author of the Book of Common Prayer, was born in Aslockton and worshipped at Whatton (where his father is buried).
Orston has a service each Sunday at 9.00am, alternating between Morning Prayer and Holy Communion and between Book of Common Prayer and Common Worship. The evening service is held at Whatton Church each Sunday at 6.00pm during British Summer Time and 4.30pm during Greenwich Mean Time.
There is a Holy Communion service (BCP) each Wednesday at 9.00am; this rotates between the churches in the group - please enquire for venue.
The Cranmer Group Guest Service is held each fifth Sunday in the month at one of the churches in the Group. This is the only service in the Group on that day.
Our aim is to know Christ and to make Him known. All are welcome at our services.
The vicar is the Revd Karl Przywala, Cranmer Group Vicarage, Main St., Aslockton, Nottingham, NG13 9AL, tel: 01949 850523.
