This Church is part of the Cranmer Group of parishes, which includes Scarrington, Orston, Whatton, Hawksworth, Aslockton, Thoroton (hence sometimes known as the SO WHAT group!). Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury at the time of the Reformation and author of the Book of Common Prayer, was born in Aslockton and worshipped at Whatton (where his father is buried).
Orston has a service at 9.00am every Sunday apart from the first of the month, alternating between Morning Prayer and Holy Communion and between Book of Common Prayer and Common Worship. The service on the first Sunday of the month is Evening Prayer (BCP) held at 6.00pm.
There is usually a Holy Communion service (BCP) followed by a light lunch at Aslockton Church at 10.45am on the first Tuesday of the month.
The Cranmer Group Guest Service is held each fifth Sunday in the month at one of the churches in the Group. This is the only service in the Group on that day.
Our aim is to know Christ better and to make Him better known. All are welcome at our services.
The vicar is the Revd Karl Przywala, Cranmer Group Vicarage, Main St., Aslockton, Nottingham, NG13 9AL, tel: 01949 850523.
