Otterburn: St John the Evangelist

St John's is open every day from about 9am - 5pm. All are very welcome to visit the church and to spend time in prayer and meditation.  We are now worshipping in the church on the first Sunday and third Sunday of the month again and are particularly pleased when people choose to use St John's for their marriage service , or to bring children for baptism.  Look out on our Facebook page Redesdale Churches for up to date information, as well as the updates here.

Lent is a good time for us to reflect on the infinite bounty of God's creation and how we respond to this great gift. This Lent season we will be doing just that as we study Saying Yes to Life by Ruth Valerio.
As people made in the image of God, we are entrusted to look after what God has made – to share in the joy and creativity of God in making a difference for good. Ruth Valerio imaginatively relates the themes of the Creation story to matters of environmental, ethical and social concern to explore what it means to be human and, in particular, to be a follower of Jesus during Lent.
Why not buy a second hand copy of the book from Wob (www.wob.com) and join us? You will be warmly welcomed.

Safeguarding

The parish of Otterburn: St John the Evangelist is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s) PSOs, namely Dr Andrew Brittlebank. If you have any concerns please contact Dr Brittlebank on 07740 224324 or email him at [email protected].
The Diocese of Newcastle’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
