YOUTH AND CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES

St. Matz Youth & Children’s Ministries works towards meeting with young people to share the love of God with them. We strive to build meaningful relationships through a variety of activities and to enable young people to grow into maturity – spiritually, morally and socially. St. Matthew’s is committed to this area of ministry and supports it practically, prayerfully and financially.

Our full-time worker is Anna Harwood, with over 70 volunteer helpers! As well as the activities set out there is always heaps of other stuff going for the young people. Special events, children’s Praise Parties, Teens residentials, worship band, fund raising as well as other trips and outings. Contact us or look out in the newsletter to see what’s on offer.

VOLUNTARY LEADERS are ESSENTIAL to the success of the Youth & Children’s Work. St. Matthew’s pledges to support its voluntary workers prayerfully and practically with resources and training. For more information on how you might join our fantastic team of volunteers or participate in a training event contact the dept (details below). Please note that volunteers are accepted subject to our applications procedure which now includes Criminal Record Bureau checks.

St. Matthew’s takes seriously its duty to protect not only the young people attending our groups and clubs, but also the volunteers who work with them. The St. Matthew’s Child Protection Policy sets out guidelines for volunteers on good practice, discipline and health & safety issues as well as the procedure if abuse is suspected or disclosed. Copies are available at the back of church or in the Youth & Children’s Ministries Office.
