Holy Trintiy Anslow

About our Parish

Anslow Parish is in the Deanery of Tutbury and the Diocese of Lichfield, near Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire.

VILLAGE
Anslow village lies 3 miles to the north-west of Burton upon Trent town centre, A hamlet in part of the once great Needwood Forest and has been in existence well before the Norman Conquest. Early records show the village mentioned in AD 1012 as Ansythelage. The village also had close links from early times with Burton Abbey. Anslow has remained essentially a farming community with a growing proportion of retired inhabitants and commuters.

HOLY TRINITY CHURCH
The Norman style Church on Hanbury Road with its award winning churchyard was completed in 1851 by the Mosley family. Originally called Needwood Church it was later dedicated to the Holy Trinity, hence the name we have today. Services are held every Sunday at 11.15am and once a month a thriving children's service called "Messy Church" is held, where the children join in the main service for around 10 minutes and then go off to read, paint, sing and make various craft items. The Church opens its doors every Monday (except bank holidays) serving coffee/tea and cakes for a small donation, which includes a raffle ticket. All are welcome, and proceeds go to selected charities throughout the year. Within the Church is the Trinity Room which can be hired out for a donation, offering good facilities including disabled access and toilet. Ideal venue for meetings, quiet days or retreats. Holy Trinity is a Grade II* listed building.
