Christ Church Ainsworth

About our Parish

Ainsworth is situated in Radcliffe North Ward of Bury Council. It is a village that can claim a history dating back to Roman times and is rightly proud of its heritage. At least five families can trace their history in the area as far back as C13-15.

The village is enclosed by fields on all sides and is within the Green belt. The older part of the village is a conservation area.

It remains a farming area with at least ten working farms. However, these days many villagers commute to work in Bolton, Bury, Manchester or further afield.

Within the parish, to the South and seperated from Ainsworth by the main Bolton / Bury road, lies Bradley Fold. Although Bradley Fold itself has a long history, it is now a modern housing development.

Population: 4100
