Hemblington
About our ParishNestling peacefully in pretty countryside, Hemblington, known as 'Hemelingetun' in the Domesday Book, is situated within four miles of the waterways of the Norfolk Broads.
Setting out from Hemblington you can explore the miles of beautiful waterways which weave their way through the splendid local countryside by foot on way-marked trails or by hiring a boat.
The 15th century round towered church of Hemblington All Saints is one of the most notable buildings in the village.
Internally the original sections of the roof retain traces of the original red colouring and sacred initials. Also of note is the fine medieval font raised upon two high steps and decorated with rich carving around the bowl and depictions of the saints adorning the stem.
