Grimston (with Pott Row)
About our ParishOn July 14th 1604 Adam Thorowgood (or Thoroughgood) was baptised at Grimston, where he was the 9th son of the Rector. At the age of 17 he went out to Virginia as an indentured servant, but returned to Britain, got married to Sarah Offley, gather 105 men, and took them to Lynnhaven. He is well known in Virginia and named the city of Norfolk after his home county.
