Standlake
About our ParishThe Village: has a rural and commuter population of approx. 1,800. House building has been by 'in-filling', so there is a mixture of old and new. There is a village shop/post office, a garage, two public houses and an equestrian centre. There are two holiday caravan and camping parks and a permanent County Council-run site for Travellers. The farms in the Village are now managed by Agricultural Contractors. We have two residential homes for the elderly: Meadowview Nursing Home and Chervil Cottage. Many thriving village associations meet in the modern village hall next to the recreation field, all-weather tennis courts and children's play area. Standlake Care Scheme, run by volunteers, gives practical support to villagers. There is a weekly youth club which meets in the Youth Centre. An active Toddler Club meets twice a week. Standlake is the home of the Oxford Downs Cricket Club. There are bus services to Oxford, Abingdon and Witney.
