St Mary the Virgin

About our Parish

St Mary the Virgin Parish Church is both the Parish Church of Aylesbury and the County Church of Buckinghamshire.

Our worship is in the meodern catholic style, where we use vestments and the Reserved Sacrament. Our typical expression of our spirituality is through the Sacraments, where Baptism and the Eucharist are central to our worshipping life.

We enjoy the support of a full RSCM Choir comprising adults and children, a very competent award winning Bell-ringing team. We provide space for toddlers and their parent(s) to join in our main Sunday Service, and we tailor a monthly service to be more informal for a wider family enjoyment.

Within the church, visitors can find the Refectory which offers FairTrade food and refreshment throughout the week during the full course of a year.

We are lively church community and the building is (typically) open for most of the day during every weekday, for prayer, for visits to admire our wonderful medieval building, to enjoy the weekly concerts held on Thursday lunchtimes, or to take a moment for peace and quiet.
