Maidford
About our ParishMaidford is a civil and eccesiastical parish in South Northamptonshire and the diocese of Peterborough situated approximately 6 miles northwest of Towcester. The population is 179. It was a centre of local Northamptonshire lace making until the early 20th Century.
Its most 'infamous'inhabitant was the notorious pirate Thomas Tew, who was more than likely born in the village in the early 1600s
