St John with Emmanuel Church

The Vicar is the Rev George Rogers, Assistant Priest: the Rev Sylvia Kinder & Assistant Curate, the Rev Sue Fear. The Rev Charles May is a retired Associate Priest. The Parish Office, open Mon to Fri. normally 10-5pm except Monday which is 10-3pm, on 01733 576541, is located in Emmanuel Church which shares it's Hall and facilities with The William Law School. Both Emmanuel and St John's are located in the village and township of Werrington near Peterborough. St John's in Church Street dates back to Norman times, has a churchyard (now maintained by the local Council) & has Sunday 8am 10.30am & 6.30pm services and midweek services as well as being used in the evening & is in the process of hoping to have changes to the interior, including putting in some chairs & removing pews.St John's is also where funerals and weddings are held.
Emmanuel Church, is a bright, modern Hall sharing all the facilities and amenities that are offered in The William Law School (Reception-Yr 6). Sunday services held at 10am and around 150 adults & 45-50 children meet for 1hr 15 mins with coffee after the service. Emmanuel is situated just off David's Lane, in Twelvetree Ave, in north Werrington. Worship at both churches is a mixture of contemporary, modern & well loved hymns with worship groups; Two Clergy; retired minister; 7 Lay Readers, 1 Lay Pastoral Minister, a Youth Worker, a full time Parish Administrator & 2 other part time staff; a Community House with 2 paid staff & volunteers. Over 200 or more meet in small groups for study and fellowship, some in the day and most in evenings; we take mission seriously & give financial support, prayerful support & practical support to several agencies overseas & also more locally. We have people trained as a Prayer Ministry team, as Christian Listeners & Bereavement Listeners. We have a good number of children and young people in our youth work groups, and also run, with the Council, a Tues Drop In for teens at our dedicated venue, The Barn, for children and youth work. Recently our Courtyard Ministry has become involved in a local ministry to provide housing for vulnerable adults.
