Charlton Marshall

About our Parish

Charlton Marshall is a village parish of about 500 homes located in the valley of the River Stour in Dorset just south of Blandford Forum.

The church was rebuilt in 1713 at the expense of the Rector Dr Charles Sloper. The work was probably done by the Bastard family of Blandford Forum. It is generally considered to be one of the best examples of a Georgian church outside London and is unusual for a village location.
